BigCollage is run by Registrum Limited (company number 17335572, 38 Chaucer Road, London, E11 2RE), the data controller. Questions: hello@bigcollage.co.uk.
Your photos stay on your device
Choosing photos, arranging them and finding faces all happen in your browser. Your photos are not uploaded to us unless you buy your collage or order a print (see "Making your file" below). To let you come back to a collage, your browser keeps your photos and design in its own storage on your device; clearing your browser's site data removes them.
Making your file
Once you have paid, your device uploads to our server the parts of your photos your collage uses, and our server puts them together into your full-resolution file (and, for a print, the print file). The uploaded photos and the files are stored on our server for up to 3 days, so you can download your file and the printer can collect a print, then deleted. The download link is private to you: it is not listed anywhere and cannot be guessed.
The optional email copy
If you tick "email me a copy", our server sends a copy of the finished collage (which contains your photos) through our email provider, Resend, to your inbox, with a link to your full-resolution file that works until we delete it after 3 days. Our email provider may keep delivery records for a short time.
Printed orders
If you order a print, we share your name, delivery address and email with our print partner, Prodigi (UK), so they can make and deliver the print. Our server makes the print file as described in "Making your file" above, and we send it to Prodigi; it is deleted with your photos after up to 3 days. Prodigi handles your details under their own privacy notice. Your delivery address is also held by Stripe with your payment, and we keep the order record for our accounting (six years, as UK law requires).
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe, never to us. We receive your email address, the amount and an order number, which we keep for our accounting records (six years, as UK law requires). Stripe emails your receipt.
How we measure the site
We use two tools to understand how people find and use BigCollage. Neither sets cookies or stores anything on your device, and neither ever sees your photos.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits: pages viewed, the site you came from, country and device type.
- PostHog (hosted in the EU) records which steps people take, such as how many photos were added, the style chosen and whether checkout was completed. Session recording is switched off and no page content or photos are captured.
With your payment we also keep the page you arrived on, the site that sent you and any campaign tags in the link, plus your optional answer to "Who is it for?", so we can see which channels and occasions matter.
What we do not do
No accounts, no marketing emails, no advertising or tracking cookies, and no session recordings.
Other services this site uses
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address when the page loads. The site is hosted by Vercel.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
